What is a good recipe for pudding?
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon shortening, melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup chopped pecans

1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup boiling water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, white sugar and 1 tablespoon cocoa. Stir in shortening, vanilla and milk until smooth. Fold in nuts. Spread mixture in a 1 quart baking dish.
Stir together brown sugar, 1 tablespoon cocoa and boiling water. Pour carefully over pudding mixture in baking dish.
Bake in preheated oven 30 to 45 minutes, until set.

While Israel is overly aggressive and everybody else feels a bit sickened by some of their actions I think the root of the problem, leaving aside historical considerations, could be solved by the surrounding arab states accepting Israel's right to exist. If you have the destruction of Israel written into your constitution I don't see how peace can ever be acheived.

People don't think about you as much as they think they do...this has been both a liberating and deflating thing for me to realise. Liberating in that people who speak grumpily at you probably aren't actually grumpy at you they are just disappointed that it has been a while since someone gave them a cheese sandwich and a cup of tea. Sadly though the corollory is that she probably isn't thinking about you, she is thinking about cheese sandwiches and cups of tea.

Since posing this question I've had to go away and wikipedia up some integral calculus in order to answer it. Turns out calculus isn't all that hard. Baking a pudding is harder. A Paddle Pop for the first comment with the correct answer.

What is a good recipe for pudding?
10g softened butter
1/3 cup golden syrup
250g softened butter, extra
250g sugar
250g self-raising flour
Pinch salt
5 eggs

Grease 1.5 litre pudding bowl liberally with butter.

Pour golden syrup into base of prepared pudding basin.

Beat butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy and well-combined.

Add flour, salt and eggs. Beat until well combined. Spoon cake mixture on top of golden syrup; smooth out with back of the spatula. Cover pudding with a disc of baking paper.

Cover dish with a pleated layer of baking paper and foil, baking paper side-down. (The pleat allows the pudding to expand during cooking). Tie pleated lid tightly around rim of bowl using kitchen string.

Place in a large steamer or saucepan with a trivet in the base. Pour boiling water into saucepan to come half way up sides of pudding bowl. Cover tightly and steam for two hours.
Pudding can successfully be steamed for at least half an hour longer if you find you do not want to eat it at the pre-designated time.

Serve with cream, ice-cream, custard or a Paddle Pop.
 

You are a dirty liar. I just looked up integral calculus and tried really hard for about 20 minutes and could make head nor tail of it. I shall buy my own paddle pop.
 

I come back from the weekend and look at the piece of paper where I'd written down my working for the answer to the calculus question. I notice that at one spot where I was supposed to square the number 3 I wrote 6! Oh this calculus stuff is harder than it looks.
