It is a truth universally acknowledged that, when behind the steering wheel, people are idiots. But when they're behind the wheel when the weather is bad, people are particularly stupid idiots.

That's the sort of thing exactly. The idiot meter went into critical when I got to the bit about one of the boys hiding behind a bin a few streets away. Clearly a particularly stupid example.
Can I also caution against driving nothing but auto transmission work cars all week and then getting into your own (manual) car and stalling it on a highway merge?
It would be better if people didn't do that. Particularly me.
